5 Signs Your Space Needs a Deep Clean
Regular cleaning keeps surfaces tidy, but over time dirt builds up in places a weekly clean never reaches. Here are five signs it is time to book a deep clean.
1. There is a persistent smell you cannot place
If your home or office has an odour that does not go away after regular cleaning, it is usually coming from somewhere a mop and surface spray cannot reach — inside vents, under furniture, behind appliances, or deep in carpet fibres. A deep clean addresses these hidden sources directly.
2. Dust reappears within a day or two
Fast dust build-up is a sign that dust is settled in places that are not being properly cleaned — skirting boards, vents, tops of cupboards, light fittings. Regular cleaning moves the surface dust around, but a deep clean removes the source.
3. The bathroom or kitchen never looks fully clean
Limescale, soap residue, and grease build up in ways that a weekly clean does not fully tackle. If tiles look dull, grout is discoloured, or kitchen surfaces feel sticky even after cleaning, the underlying grime needs a more intensive treatment.
4. Someone in the household is dealing with allergies
Dust mites, mould spores, and pet dander accumulate in carpets, mattresses, and soft furnishings. If allergy symptoms seem worse indoors, a deep clean using HEPA-filter equipment can significantly reduce the allergen load in the space.
5. You cannot remember the last time certain areas were properly cleaned
Behind the washing machine. Under the bed. Inside the oven. On top of the kitchen cabinets. These areas do not get touched in a normal cleaning routine. If you genuinely cannot recall the last time they were done, they are overdue.
A deep clean is not a sign of failure — it is just the right tool for certain jobs. If any of these apply to your space, it is worth booking one.
